Adhunika magazine launched in 1936 with Bhagabati Charan Panigrahi as the editor Adhunika had declared that it will not confine itself to literary activities alone. Rather it will aim at bringing to Odisha an awareness about the progressive movement spreading around the world. It would strive to strike at the root of dogmas and irrationality clouding our personal and social lives. Unfortunately, it folded up only after five issues.
